Nine policy committees will develop recommendations to help the incoming administration deliver on its affordability agenda
PROVIDENCE, RI — Today, Mayor-elect David Morales announced the membership of nine transition policy committees, bringing together 135 people to help develop recommendations and priorities for the incoming administration.
The announcement follows Wednesday’s introduction of eleven transition co-chairs. The committees will work with Morales, the transition co-chairs, transition team leadership, and incoming staff leadership to help shape the administration’s early plans and longer-term goals, building on the affordability agenda outlined during the campaign.
“Mayor-elect Morales ran a campaign that spoke to the very real struggles neighbors in Providence face, and gave people hope that things could be different,” said June Rose, Executive Director of the Morales transition. “Now, our job is to capture that energy, turning the affordability agenda our neighbors voted for into changes they can feel in their daily lives. These committees will help us get specific about what it will take to deliver on those promises. We’ve asked them to think boldly and bring forward recommendations the administration can put to work as we build a Providence for all.”
The transition co-chairs, committees, and committee members are listed below. Committee members are serving as volunteers.
